  I had my hip replaced in 2006 by Dr Downer. I was referred by my rheumatologist, Dr Julie Carkin. I chose Dr Downer because he was one of the first surgeons to do the anterior incision. I was amazed at the lack of pain I had with this surgery. I’ve walked 3 miles a day on this hip, ride by bike(crashed on my bike). I will always go to Dr D as I don’t trust anyone else to do hip replacement.
